Tour itinerary

Day 1 Barcelona, Spain

Arrive in Barcelona and make our way to the hostel which is in the heart of the action just a few minutes walk from the Ramblas. In the evening we meet up with our Topdeck Trip Leader and the rest of the group and maybe taste the nightlife and tapas!

Day 2 Barcelona to Madrid

This mornng we have a city tour of amazing Barcelona. The Ramblas is a happening area, and some of the architecture can only be described as bizarre! Marvel at Gaudi's incredible buildings, including the unfinished Sagrada Familia. In the afternoon there is time to visit the bull ring, the site of the Olympics, or maybe the Nou Camp, home to Barcelona Football Club. In the evening we take an overnight sleeper train to Madrid.

Day 3 Madrid

We arrive in Madrid early morning and we have a city tour that takes in all the major sights. A visit to Palacio Real is a must with its incredible collection of art treasures, tapestries and statues, and the Plaza Mayor is great for a coffee and a spot of people watching. The infamous Madrid nightlife awaits after dark, and maybe tonight take in a Flamenco show!

Day 4 Madrid

An excursion to Toledo, one of Spain's most interesting towns is where we head this morning. Here, the gothic cathedral gazes down upon a maze of twisted alleyways. Alternatively occupied but Romans, Muslims, and then Christians, the end result is a European city with a fascinating Middle East flavour. We return to Madrid in time to visit the world famous museum Museo del Prado, which contains examples of some of Europe's finest art.

Day 5 - 6 Madrid to Seville

To Seville, once the capital of Islamic Spain. Now the town is dominated by its enormous cathedral that contains the tomb of Christopher Colombus. The people are stylish and friendly and the city lays claim to the best tapas in Spain!

Day 7 - 8 Seville to Granada

Situated beneath Spain's highest mountain range, the Sierra Nevada, Granada's skyline is dominated by the mighty Alhambra Palace. Granada's largest student population ensures a vibrant cultural atmosphere and buzzing nightlife.

Day 9 Granada

The trip finishes today in Granada after breakfast, giving some free time to explore before catching our flight home.
