From Riga to Tallinn via St Petersburg - 9 days to explore the history and culture of this unique area.

Tour itinerary

Day 1 Riga, Latvia

Meet our fellow Topdeck travellers and Trip Leader this evening in the gorgeous city of Riga.

Day 2 Riga, Latvia

We will soon see why Riga is on the UNESCO World Heritage list. It has taken 800 years to shape this beautiful city and our walking tour takes in all the sights from the medieval architecture to the more recent 19th century buildings. The cobblestone streets house numerous restaurants, cafes and bars and in the evening we get to sample them after our included welcome dinner.

Day 3 Riga to St Petersburg, Russia

We have a free day in Riga andmaybe there will be enought time to organise a "skill testing" run on the Bobsleigh course. In the early evening we make our way to the train station for the overnight train to St Petersburg.

Day 4 St Petersburg, Russia

We wake up in St Petersburg, the Venice of the north. We take a city tour with a local guide and pass by the Peter and Paul Fortress, where all the Russin Emperors are buried, St Isaac's Cathedral and many other sights.

Day 5 St Petersburg, Russia

This morning we visit the Hermitage, one of the most famous art museums in the world. A former Imperial Palace it now holds items from a tremendous range of cultures and art. After this there is some free time to finish off the shopping or sights.

Day 6 St Petersburg to Tallinn, Estonia

After breakfast we say farewell to Russia as we board the train for the journey across the plains toTallinn and arrive mid afternoon. Tallinn is also on the UNESCO World Heritage list and it is easy to see why. Wander the streets and soak up the atmosphere and this evening check out the lively nightlife.

Day 7 Tallinn to Helsinki, Finland (day trip)

Today we take a day trip across the Gulf of Finland to the Finnish capital, Helsinki. We see the major sights including the "underground" Church, Senate Square and the imposing Cathedral, the Sibelius monument and Market Square. We return to Tallinn late afternoon.

Day 8 Tallinn

Our trip finishes after breakfast this morning as it's time to say farewell to new friends.

What sort of people will be on the trip?

People from all over the world join this trip and are aged between 18 and 30 something. Like you, they will be up for a great travel experience and meeting like-minded travellers. Roughly half of our passengers travel on their own.
