Day 1,BANGKOK
Arrive and transfer to your hotel.
Day 2,BANGKOK - BATTAMBANG
An early start for an adventurous journey from Thailand into Cambodia. We travel by public bus and exciting pick-up trucks to the sleepy provincial town of Battambang in Cambodia. (B)
Day 3,BATTAMBANG - BAMBOO TRAIN
Today we visit some of the sites around Battambang and ride on the local Bamboo Train, a definite highlight unique to Battambang. (B)
Day 4,SIEM REAP - TONLE SAP
Today we travel by boat to Siem Reap along the Sangker River and into Tonle Sap lake. (B)
Day 5,ANGKOR WAT
A spectacular day of exploration. We rise early for sunrise over Angkor Wat then enjoy a guided tour of the main complex. In the afternoon we visit Angkor Thom, Bayon, South Gate and the Terrace of the Leper King. (B)
Day 6,ANGKOR WAT
Free day to further explore Angkor Wat and other surrounding sites. (B)
Day 7,PHNOM PENH
Today we drive to Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital. Free afternoon in the capital. (B)
Day 8,PHNOM PENH
Today we visit the main sites of Phnom Penh including the Royal Palace and National Museum. We then get an insight into Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime in Cambodia by visiting the torture centre of Tuol Sleng and the Killing Fields at Choeung Ek. (B)
Day 9,SIHANOUKVILLE
We continue onto Cambodia’s southern coastal city of Sihanoukville today. The rest of the day if free. (B)
Day 10,KAMPOT - KEP
Unfortunately we are unable to operate the brochured SACA itinerary due to the closure of the road to Mt Bokor. Therefore, this trip will operate according to an amended itinerary for Days 10 and 11 until further notice, as follows: A scenic drive to Kampot, followed by a guided tour of this sleepy riverside town, packed with French colonial architecture. Later we drive to the coastal town of Kep and enjoy a seafood barbecue. (BD)
Day 11,SIHANOUKVILLE
We return to Sihanoukville where the rest of the day is free to relax on the beach or explore.
Day 12,SIHANOUKVILLE
A free day to relax on any of the beautiful beaches that surround Sihanoukville. Alternatively you can take a day trip to Ream National Park for jungle hiking, a boat ride through the mangroves and a more secluded beach. (B)
Day 13,TRAT
We catch a boat along the coast to the Thai border. After leaving Cambodia, we take minibuses to Trat. Overnight in Trat. (B)
Day 14,BANGKOK
Return to Bangkok where tour ends on arrival. (B)
