Namib Lodge Safari

Namib Lodge Safari (EXNL)

Duration: 13 days (may vary)
Areas: Namibia
Tour types: Nature & Wildlife, Safari, Walking & Trekking

Description

The Highest Dunes on Earth
First we head southwest into the Namib Desert, the oldest desert on Earth, to explore Sesriem Canyon and the sand dunes and pans of the Sossusvlei area. There's time for a dawn balloon flight (optional) over the dunes before leaving the sands for the seas as we enjoy a scenic drive to the Atlantic coast. We reach Swakopmund and then visit the thriving Cape Cross Seal Colony (home to up to 100,000 Cape fur seals).

Damaraland & Salt Pans of Etosha
Next we enter southern Damaraland and begin our exploration of the area - a unique cultural and conservational experience. At the heart of Etosha National Park lie the sprawling salt pans, once a lake the size of Holland. Dating back some 12 million years, it's now a silvery depression of dust-laden mirages. In terms of game viewing, many consider Etosha as one of the very best parks in Africa.

Comment

Our safari truck is ideal for group travel and, due to its height, it provides great vision whilst travelling or game viewing. We generally stay at smaller well-appointed lodges/hotels and in restcamp bungalows. Minimal physical exertion is required to enjoy this safari. Some long drives, but through spectacular scenery.

Group

Approx. 12 to 16.

Introduction

Join us on a classic safari through the scenic landscapes of northern Namibia. Travelling by safari truck and following a very similar route to our 'Namib Wilderness & Wildlife' safari, this trip is based on lodge accommodation rather than camping.
