Seriously Superjeeps - a Family Holiday in Iceland (EXFIA)
Duration:
4 days (may vary)
Areas: Iceland
Tour types: Family Adventures, History & Culture, Nature & Wildlife
Description
THORSMORK & THE NORTHERN LIGHTS
From the capital Reykjavik, we head off in outrageous 'Superjeeps' (complete with huge tyres and satellite navigation) on a wild ride into the valley of Thorsmork - a landscape of glacial moraine and lakes crackling with ice. On the return leg we drive across lava fields and, weather permitting, into the hills to find a point from which we hope to view the dazzling 'Aurora Borealis'.
WATERFALLS, GEYSIRS & BLUE LAGOON
A favourite optional activity is a tour of the region's natural wonders, including the towering waterfall of Gullfoss and Geysir, the spouting hot spring after which all others are named. Alternatively, if the snow is suitable, how about a snowmobile ride up in the hills (instruction and crash helmets are both provided). Then why not round off your adventure with a dip in the Blue Lagoon: bathtime will never be the same again...
