Description
Rope Course & Canyoning
From our first base at Vizzavona we limber up on a forest ropes course: tackling swaying rope bridges and ladders, zip-wires and Tarzan-style swings, all high up in the tree canopy. Then a chance to swim in the nearby Cascade des Anglais, a series of waterfalls and rock pools, before trying out some canyoning at nearby Bocognano. All equipment and expert guides are provided as we slide, swim and splash our way down the gorge.
Giant's Plunge Pool, Via Ferrata & Zip-wires
A short train ride brings us to Corte, the old mountain capital of Corsica, where we stay in the nearby Restonica Gorge. Wonderful horse and pony treks are available here, and we also make a short picnic hike to the Giant's Plunge Pool to relax, sunbathe and swim in the natural pools. Our next activity is a full day on a nearby Via Ferrata and zip-wire course: first we climb a rock face using a series of ladders, cables and bridges, then - having paused to admire the panoramic views from the top - descend on a string of heart-stopping zip-wires!
Sea Kayak Adventure
We leave the mountains and head to the west coast at Ajaccio, then enjoy our last activity: a sea kayaking trip around the rugged coast from tiny Porticcio. The route is weather dependent, but we expect to see secluded creeks, remote beaches, a dramatic coastline overlooked by old Genoese watchtowers and - if we're very lucky - an inquisitive dolphin or two!

Day 1
Join Calvi airport, transfer to Vizzavona.
Day 2
In Vizzavona, half day ropes course and Cascade des Anglais rock pools.
Day 3
In Vizzavona, half day canyoning at Bocognano, free afternoon.
Day 4
Train to Corte, short drive to hotel in Restonica Gorge; afternoon horse/pony trekking (optional).
Day 5
Picnic walk in Restonica Gorge to Giant's Plunge Pool.
Day 6
Full day trip to nearby Via Ferrata and zip-wire course.
Day 7
To Ajaccio, half day sea kayaking trip from Porticcio.
Day 8
End Calvi airport.

Although all activities are suitable for beginners there is a minimum age limit of 8 on the Via Ferrata/zip-wire course, and a minimum height of 1.20m (this also applies on the Vizzavona rope course). An ability to swim at least 25m is necessary for all water-based activities. All equipment is provided and activities are supervised by expert English speaking guides.

Introduction
A week of non-stop action and adventure, based mainly in the forested mountains of northern Corsica and ending on the sandy west coast. The wild and dramatic beauty of the “Scented Isle” comes as a surprise to many, especially the craggy interior, which is largely undeveloped. Based at three different hotels we get 'up close and personal' with the best of wild Corsica - river gorges and rock pools, mountains, forests, coast and much more.
