Selous And Ruaha (EDAYS)
Duration:
10 days (may vary)
Areas: Tanzania
Tour types: Nature & Wildlife
Description
This traditional camping safari explores the best of southern Tanzania, a vastly different experience to a safari in the north of the country. This trip is all about game viewing, and our safari starts with the truly wild scenery of Selous, Africa's largest wildlife reserve. We do not have the massive migration here but the wildlife will not disappoint: large populations of hippo and crocodiles, and small numbers of the endangered black rhino. The wide Rufiji River bisects the reserve, and our safari is not just by 4WD, it is also by boat and on foot. We travel overland to Mikumi National Park, where we stop for a couple of days of game viewing before continuing to Ruaha. Tanzania's second largest park, Ruaha straddles 'southern' and 'eastern' Africa, so the animal and bird life here are second to none. The Sun - recommends Kilimanjaro with Exodus (28 February 2009).
