Comfort Level
Graded a ‘gentle’ discovery journey, so anyone in
good health can take part. Your cruise aboard the
Nile riverboat is very pleasant and comfortable, but
don’t expect ‘luxury’. The weather can be very hot in
Egypt, so be sure to take adequate sun protection.
Dining Out
Trip price includes 7 breakfasts, 3 lunches & 4 dinners.
You’ll get to taste lots of local cuisine while in Egypt’s cities
– from the falafel sold in many restaurants, to the lovely
pancakes available in one of our favourite cafés in Cairo’s
Khan-al-Khalili. On board the riverboat, all meals are
served in the restaurant (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and
specifically cater for the ‘western appetite’.

Pricing Notes
Insurance from £35 • Single room option £60 (includes riverboat cabin, but not on overnight train).
Responsible Travel
We have joined forces with the Sunshine International Project, Luxor, to assist in providing education and a home for children in Egypt. You will have the opportunity to visit the home during your stay in Luxor, and meet the 68 residents - aged between two months and 11 years old. You’ll be assured of a cheery welcome! If you would like to give a gift they would be delighted to receive the following; pyjamas, disposable nappies, milk formula & baby shampoo. All of these goods are available to buy cheaply locally (helping the local economy) and your group leader will be able to advise on where to buy things. For further details please see Sunshine International, where the children have placed a wish-list!
Transport Used
This trip has many different forms of transport – from
comfortable air-conditioned charter bus to calesh (horsedrawn
carriage). The main section of your trip is on a
riverboat for your cruise along the Nile. It will feature a small swimming pool,
restaurant and bar. There will be ample space to relax and
watch the sights of the Nile go by! Twin cabins are compact
and have an en suite bathroom, with wash basin, toilet and
hot shower.
Your Accommodation
Hotels (3 nights), berth on sleeper train (1 night),
shared berth on riverboat (3 nights).
We use comfortable three star hotels and rooms have
en suite facilities. Most hotels also feature a restaurant and
bar. They are well located so access to the sights of the
cities is within easy reach. On the train your berth will be in a
twin bunk with wash facilities; a bar is also available.
