Although this trip involves some physical exertion, no previous experience is required. The activities will be tailored to suit the abilities and ages of the group. Minimum age: 5 years.

Climate

Bulgaria has a temperate climate with seasonal variations familiar to British visitors. The summer months are typically hot and dry, with average valley temperatures reaching 28 °C during July and August. The majority of this holiday is in the mountains where temperatures will be cooler, often by as much as 10°C. The wettest months are usually April, May and June but as with most mountain areas, rain can occur at any time, occasionally as violent but short-lived cloudbursts.

Beglik and Devin are largely undiscovered by foreign tourists and your fellow travellers are more likely to be locals or visitors from other parts of Bulgaria. Sharing a meal with local people offers a genuine insight into every day life.

Since the increase in popularity of bottled water, many countries are experiencing a problem of litter especially where adequate recycling is not available. Please could you try, where possible, to use purification tablets or filters for water or buy bigger bottles of water between group members and decant into your individual water bottles.
